Pixologic User Group Meeting Thursday January 26th

Cmon, let the kids up front!
I go and watch modeling with clebrities now!
Lemo

still waiting to be awe stricken…
give us the 411 do~it do~it!!

Yeah someone post some news!

Since doing a live webcast is quite resource intensive, I’m sure a lot of us would be perfectly fine with a downloadable video of the event.

I personally feel it would be such a shame not to share something like this with those of us no in the immediate area.

Hope you consider this.
Thanks much

I agree with ya. I am suprised there hasnt been any info on how it was. must all still be in shock from what they saw. LUCKY!

Hello!!

The event was a success. We did our best to overwhelm the crowd with ZBrush goodness. We even raffled off a free copy of ZBrush and some Gnomon DVDs.

Glen Southern put together a great presentation showing a complete ZBrush workflow from ZSpheres to final textured model. Glen went into all the nooks and cranny of ZSpheres model creation and gave the audience a fantastic introduction into ZBrush.

Will McCullough of Highend3D shared some of the new features of Highend3D: the tutorial database, ZScript depository and other things. Check it out here:www.highend3d.com. Click on the ZBrush link.

Kris Kosta presented his amazing work and went in-depth into how he used ZBrush layers and markers to create his amazing illustrations. He had so much great stuff to show I almost had to drag him off stage to stay on scheduele! He even showed us the back side of his Kangaroo which we will leave as Kris’ dirty little secret!

Taron presented his new After Effects plug-in and stunned the crowd with its speed and just plain amazingly creative uses using nothing more than a ZDepth pass from ZBrush. Oohs and Ahhs boiled out of the crowd as Taron merrily described the fruits of the last few months of his labor. Look for more information on this in the coming months.

For those who couldn’t make it there will be another soon enough! We will keep you posted and, don’t worry, provide you with alittle more notice.

We are sifting through what we have of the event and will let you know what is available for viewing as we know more.

Thank you to Glen Southern, Kris Kosta and Taron. Also, thank you Gnomon for putting this together. Thank you Alex, Pam, Jill, Eric and all the volunteers who signed everyone in!

Ryan

Thanks for the info ryan.

I can’t get to highend3d.com. oh well. try later.

I wish I was able to get down there.
Maybe next time.

ā€œWe are sifting through what we have of the eventā€ ??!?!
:confused:small_orange_diamond:(:frowning: This sound like you have gone thru it without programming a recording… you didn’t think about us :frowning:
Ok I’m kidding, but I still hope you managed to film it all in HD…

  • Zscripts,
and with an array of microphones for spatial audio 7+1
    ok I’ll just shut up

Congratulations for that success!!!
Andreseloy

Thanks Ryan, Jaime and Gnomon for having me and thanks a lot to all of you that made it. Great to meet you!. I think it was great but I really should have more time to show some more cool stuff I had in my hard drive
Was great to finally meet Glen Southern, super nice guy. His ZBrush stuff was one of the reasons that made me start learning it. Also great to meet Taron again, always funny and with an awesome and promising new plugin for AE. A special thanks to Rick ā€œmonstermakerā€ Baker that watched the entire thing and spoke to me at the end. Yeah, I’m a fanboy of you man

Cheers,
-Kris

Thank you for the highlights Ryan. What is an after effects plug-in?

Don’t suppose there was anything about ZB 2.5 huh?

I was wondering the same thing. no 2.5 infomation? never mentioned when it might be released? NOTHING?!?!?!?!

I feel we are going to hear something real soon. Hmmmmm!

Gentlemen -

Please keep this from devolving into a where’s 2.5 thread. As posted many times it is a work-in-progress. Lets keep the focus on ZBrush 2 which has many more powerful features than many of us are using as it is. The Roadmap: ZApp Link, ZMapper, and Displacement Exporter bring the important functionality of ZBrush 2.5 to you today.

As Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young said, Love The One Your With.

So get back to the computer and stop making ZBrush 2 jealous!!

Ryan

Guys, you already got version 2.1 (Displacement Exporter), 2.2 (ZApp Link) and 2.3 (ZMapper). That’s a lot of work for only few months. Much better to use these fantastic tools (as plugins) for now and just wait. Pixologic is probably trying to be sure that things are going to work perfectly before to even think about a release date. Or maybe you prefer to have something that will not gonna work well just because you want it now? That can be bad for everybody, don’t you think? You guys have to relax and keep using the fantastic version 2.0. There’s so much things to learn in 2.0 that I bet you haven’t tried yet. Let’s have some fun!

-Kris

ps.: of course this is just IMHO.

hey! We posted together Ryan!

I told you guys we would hear something real soon. You are correct sir.

Antropus! We underwent a mind meld! Live long and prosper!

Thanks again for showing all your amazing work!

Are you guys planning to do any user group meetings here in Europe??? Sorry but the videos you post after every meeting can not replace the live event in any way.
