I know most people roll their eyes when someone says their pet is like a kid, but sometimes they are. Listen to this conversation (translated from meows and barks)
Cat “Na na I got uncle Ray’s lap.”
Dog “I want on to.”
Cat “No, go away.”
Dog jumps up and tries to push the cat off. “I’m the cute one, you go away.”
Cat “Oh yeah? You’re not cute, you’re fat. Now get off.”
Dog “Make me.”
Cat “Not a problem.”
Cat wins.
LOL – cats often win – I had a 10 lb cat that terrorized a 70 lb dog – well, I guess the cat was terrified too, judging by the once-in-a-lifetime hissing 
I’m not sure I believe in reincarnation, but I always feel like I’m “raising” my pets – raised my cat like a puppy, raising my goldfish like cats – future generations Beware!
