I am about to get a web site up and running and was just wondering what would be the best to go with.Should I get a plan were I have a bigger storage amount to start of with or upgrade to a bigger when the need arises? What about this bandwith usage I see - what is that about.
Can any one point out some tips as I think I need them(my head is starting to hurt just thinking about this)
I know a lot of people that have made websites on
www.godaddy.com
I don’t know how much space you can have but one of my friends made folders to host all of his friend’s webpages and MP3s so I guess it’s a lot.
BTW, you’re only going to put pictures on there right?
Storage vs. Bandwidth
If you are going to upload/download a large quantity of data or allow others to retrieve data go with the Bandwidth.
If you are planning on posting LOTS of work, etc large gallery or personal site full of stuff, go Storage.
Make sure you have a clearly defined purpose for what you are trying to achieve. It’s easy to waste money on a website yearly/monthly cost.
Make sure you ASK them how many sites are sitting per server. That will give you an idea about their service as well as their interest in providing good dataflow.
Also, test drive their tech support BEFORE you get involved. I always call with a fake problem. See how long it takes to get through audix, etc.
I highly recommend: www.rjsnetworks.com
If you have specific concerns or frustrations with this, shoot me an email, I’ll be glad to help.
Thanks ZackyH and Kathy.
Ok, I would like you to check out all the options before you choose one of the above packages…
