Having worked on the cg doubles for both these ladies in the film, I can honestly say your busts are dead on. Puts my versions to shame without a doubt! Some of the straps feel a little too thick, but I assume this is a necessity if these were done with the intent of having them printed.

It’s nice to know someone else had to go through the agony of looping the wires through Amber’s costume… oh good times.

Wonderful to see these models, thank you for sharing!

I really like your work. I have always wondered - how do you do laces? Is it 50+ pieces just overlaid on top of each other or do you actually string a long lace through all of the holes?

LD - the laces sweep, but the initial polygon build (in Modo) is very small so its not too much work. Then the cloning and welding comes into it. Back in Zbrush I use the move brush at a large size to fit the laces to the silhouette of her body.

Awesome work as usual Brandon! Do you ever have any issues with Modo crashing? I love the toolset and workflow, but man…it likes to crash on me at the most inopportune times.

Modo 501 hasn’t crashed on me. I use GoZ to do minor topology changes, create guns, jetpacks, or to make very simple renders. Now that Modo is 64bit I can bring fairly large decimated sculpts into it without any real problems.

What are you doing when Modo crashes? Do you work on mac or pc?

Thanks for the reply! I’m on a Mac working with 501 as well. To be fair, the only crash I had with 501 was while rendering. Haven’t had a ton of time to play around with modeling in it lately. However, in past releases I’ve had it go “ka-boom” out of the blue just doing simple tasks.
