Just a nitpick, otherwise nice work. Finger OFF the trigger. That’ll make him look like he’s handled firearms before.

This is a nice sculpt. The pose is a little bit weird though. The hands look a little strange as well.
I’m curious what renderer your using? You seem to lose a little bit of depth, especially in the bracers for your beauty pass
Hi there, yeah youre right…im using mental ray and somehow doesnt read the normal map very accurate…so i loss plenty of depth as you say and that also make some trouble in hands…they look more loke plastic hands since theres no depth with bones and tendons from the hp…but im still learning the right way to pull this right
Jorge,
Thanks a bunch! I’m currently working on a female warrior (future) character. I’ve been all over the net looking for decent reference. Most of what I see is more a fashion statement and completely non-functional. Or they have many external spikes which I’m sure would get the wearer totally tangled in any shrubery (it looks cool in combat rpgs). Your outfit seems practical, and a little sexy. I guess I got really spoiled by “Trinity: Matrix”. She was all business.
Great work!
ps have you tried out “Paint Stop” yet?
Great work. Really wondeful job on the accesoirs and clothing!
Good modeling and texturing overall but i think the pose is weird and here face should be more expressive in that kind of fighting mouvement. It’s just my opinion, hope it helps.
hyper1: Nice to know it helped you a bit man…be sure to send me your thread link once you finish that character ok ?
about “Paint Stop” , i havent try it man…in fact is the first time i hear about it…im going to investigate about it i guess
Moni-Poroni: Hello, thank you very much Sir!
gtiber:I totally agree about the pose man…just wanted to make her look more pretty i guess…but i think i can try some expressions later, i made soome teeth for her too so i think i can try smiles and agressive espressions some day
thanx man!
and a little test on the head wear
very gentle…
Good idea, Nice work, put the pose is really weird, doesn’t give justice to the model .
thanx guys,
Kwamey:Yeah im always looking to get some difficult poses and most of times doesn’t seem to very popular…lol, but maybe ill render a more standard pose so it shows better the model i guess… thanx for the advice dude.
here is the girl with some fixes i did on the head proportions

I think you can keep that idea for that pose, but maybe correct some details… If you hide her legs with your hands, she seems so still and relax having interest in one direction, then remove your hands and you suddently see her legs running to an impossible direction, at 90 degres ! lol it definately has something to do with her waist and right foot rotation, and for finning, maybe her facial expression wich should give more the impression that she’s in a such position. I love the model, she deserves a nicer pose hehe.

hey Jorge. the model itself is looking great. there’s nothing wrong with the idea of your pose, it’s just that that you haven’t executed it all the way yet. the girl can look pretty and still look like she is in action. if you cover her top half and look at just the waist, you have the beginnings of a cool running pose. if you cover her lower body and just look at the top, you have a very relaxed looking pose (not even looking at the face) the two aren’t talking to each other right now. This is also a great opportunity to use all the gear and dangling parts to help sell the action. those feathers off the axe can be trailing behind the axe to show the directional motion of it. the straps can be lagging behind her and loosened to show shes coming down in mid stride. That cloth hanging from her waist should definitely be flapping around. well that’s enough outta me. I can’t wait to see how you finish off man. You’ve got something really good here. adios!

If its possible can you post a high-res render of final pose without texture or paint, i really like to see her in a form of clay sculpt
thx for sharing your wonderful art work:)
cheers
Kwamey: Haha yeah pose thing is weird , i made the covering part exercise and it its funny how it looks, lol, thanx mate. i think i will test an other pose, i want to show my modeling and texturing so i dont want to make the pose an issue for my artwork, i think i will be learning and studying in order to achieve better results, thanx for the help, can you please give your opinion on this new test?
robbiestyle: Hey man, thanx a lot , some very useful tips mate, but i think i will try something more standard…hehe maybe next time ill be trying a difficult one again.
deep: Hi man, im happy u liked it man, i dont have a high res on that pose only t-pose since im posing the Low poly version of it , and well im learning how to paint hair…hehe im painting Hair on 2d for this one…only the flying ones.
New Pose test …what do you think? (sorry about textures mess, different channels on uvs).
