My friend is workin on a simple webpage so that people (in my school class of 2006) can submit Email Addresses and AOL instant messenger Screen names using an html form. He would then manually update the site with new information.
We have a problem, though. he needs to know a way for the information to be sent to him. He doesn’t wanna use mailto cause weve found that unreliable. Is there anyway we could have the information be sent to a file or somethin so we could view it and then update the site? Ive read up on CGI scripts and the like, but i really dont think the host allows for user submitted scripts and if it does, Im not 100% sure how to write them. Any ideas? I hope this is sufficient information. My friend askes for my help but i cant find a way. Im not sure of the web host and other things, cause its his site.

EDIT: found hes using 54v.com
i just checked the page and i went to help and found some free stuff that can process forms without the client having to email stuff…the forms are just processed and emailed to you. Sorry for postin this…but if u have some helpful information, feel free to post cause this may apply to me and i love learning new things
