Hi there, I am new and I was having trouble sculpting armor for an alien I am making.I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.I have included an image of the alien.
You could use panel loops. Mask an area where you want armor( i.e shoulders ) extract the mask into a mesh( shape with move brushes if necessary ), control>shift>r click on the top part of the extract to hide the bottom and sides, delete hidden, then in the deformation tab use polish by feature to smooth out the edge. Then play around with the panel loops tab to get something you like.
You could also use the topolgy brush to draw out sections of armor on the body and extract them. Likewise you could use the subtool menu Extract function to extract sections of armor based on masking. Shape the parts with the sculpting and clip brushes.
