How do I make sure I export images with the model in the same position on the canvas?

I exported an image to trace the outline of the model in a sketching app. But let’s say I want to change something on the model, how do I export another image at the exact same canvas position so that I can easily line it up with my traced outline?

I know using F to center the model is a way but, for example, in this case, before I exported, I may have zoomed in a little or I may have moved the model some other way. Also, I doubled the document size and used AA half prior to exporting.

After I exported the image, I haven’t touched Zbrush, the model is in the same position. Is there anything I can do now to capture that position and re-use it whenever I want to export another image?

Why not use ZAppLink to your image program instead? It’s in the document menu.

What I need is to be able to save a location (rotation, zoom, etc.) on the canvas to go back to it later.

EDIT: I got it. The imageplane section of the texture panel allows you to save views.

Thanks for your help anyway.

You can also use the timeline to store different viewing angles etc.

Hey there, you can store camera views in ZBrush by going to:

-Texture
-Image Plane
-Reference View
-Click on the Cust 1 or 2 button
-Turn perspective on or off, whichever you like
-Rotate camera to desired position
-Click “Store View”

You can continue modeling or rendering from different angles as per usual, when you hit your stored view button (cust1 or 2) it will snap back to your stored view.

Please note: Saving a view by default deactivates perspective, turn it on before saving a view. Also in 4r6 saving a view has been known to cause the transpose line to behave strangely, like it will go off to infinity and rotate and snap strangely.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Nic. I was already using that method.
