Somebody knows a free system of forum like ZbCentral text+images for insert in a personnal Web Site without a lot of manipulations to install into Html language : easy to use ?
Thx by advance

Hey Frenchy!

YaBB is a free bulletin board. It allows images and text in a message but the images must be linked from somewhere else. It doesn’t have “upload” capabilities that I know of. It is a Perl bulletin board. You can find it below:

YaBB

It’s a pretty good system.

Thx Vikki
I shall go to this link for try to understand the functions.
Pilou

Here is an ASP forum: Snitz Forum

It is very easy to set up, but your server must support ASP. (Just as your server must support CGI/Perl for YaBB.)

Hi Muvlo
Do you think that a “forum” for somebody who make a travel around the world is a good solution ? He can send images and text and speak with everybody.
The other solution the “groups” like at Yahoo seems interesant too!
What did you make in this case (except a personal site of course)?
Choice is difficult
“Znitz” seems attractive ? Do you use it ?
Pilou
Ps A forum can be independant of a web site ? Just an adresse ? Like ZbrushCentral
the answer is in the question   I am a nut

I a year or two, you will have this capability built into Windows, but until then, consider Groove (Groove.net)

For your needs, I think the web based forum might be better, but I thought I would post this cause I think it is just plain cool.

Basically, it allows a virtual workspace, where images, files, text, thoughts, etc., can be shared and worked on in virtual real time. Colaboration is the name of the game

Of course, other people who you want to share this space would need the groove client as well, and not everyone wants to go through that kind of trouble when most of thier needs can be taken care of through a web based forum.

Hi Kaz
A another one  but this one seems to be for a Multi National Company
I presume than it’s possible to limit the number of posts in a forum because the place allowed by the provider is not infinite
For exemple killed the oldest automaticly?
Pilou ^o^

Actually, all the posts are stored on your local machine. This allows you to work offline as well, and “Sych” up when you are online. Of couse you would need a laptop that you would be traveling with…

There are many possibilities with this solution. If you are interested, the preview edition is free for non commercial use. If you download it and want to try it, let me know and I will post ,y groove address.

About Snitz, I don’t currently have a website that uses it, but I have been working on modifying it to suit my own needs. It is very simple to use though, without any programming.

Hi Kaz
Groove seems a little more complex for the final object and not compatible with a Latop for travel, nothing in the rucksack  The system must be distant and not resident. So many thanks for your help.

Hi Muvlo.
“Without no programming” resound to my ears like a delicious delight enchantment
The action of “Snitz” climb with a vertiginously speed for me
Thx for the links
Pilou ‘O’

One other thing: If you don’t already have a site to put the Snitz forum on, there is a pretty good free website called Brinkster that works well. (30 Megs free space, and no ads!)

Hi Muvlo
“If you don’t already have a site”, you want to speak of a “host provider” or a personal “website”? Brinkster is a provider oriented Mikrosoft  ?
Pilou

Yes, Brinkster is on Microsoft-type servers. ASP requires this type of server to run.
