I ran across this and thought maybe some of those here would be interested. Maybe you’ve already heard of it or attended one.
Sigh…yet another convention I want to go to but can not. If I were to go to all the conventions that I wanted to go to I would be a professional Conventioneer! 
That was formerly known as the San Diego Comicon, the world’s largest. Looks like a GREAT list of guests this year!
I went out there about 5 years ago to have some comic inking work evaluated. What an experience! But it turned out to be pretty much an advanced class in figure model sculpting(nothing to do with the reason I went there!). I got to meet and spend time with some outstanding sculptors, who gave me lots of great tips, about materials and construction, which cut down my learning curve considerably.
