Mouth corners still look a little funny. I don’t get the feeling that the lips are wrapping around the teeth like they should.
Other than that looking good.

wow, I can’t wait to see this finished, ha its so awesome
I did some work on the shape of the mouth around the corners. Thanks sasquatchpoacher. I saw your hillbilly sculpt in 3d world by the way. congratulations.
does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about making Dog’s hair?
The clothes look real, and I love all your little models and mutated crops as well =>
Not without having to use Maya.
You could also try just a sculpting mold, will not look to real, but It’ll do till something better comes… Unless you can do hair on Zbrush. I dont know, I only work with Zbrush and Photoshop.
I’ve done about as much with alpha plane hair as I can. Lighting could help, but I’m happy enough with it for now to move on to finishing the accessories and texturing. Let me know if you have suggestions.
ignore the skin for now. It’s just a test of the hair render in maya.
Here’s some of the first renders from Maya. Still very rough. No skin shader, body textures, etc. Most of the normal maps are done though.
Here’s one of the first tests of the skin shader from mental ray. No textures or facial hair still.
does anyone have tips for sculpting the facial hair? I was thinking it might be easiest to use some hair textures as a base and try to mask by intensity from that. not sure.
Dog’s looking super monteford2002.
I’m especially impressed with the recent images of him all suited up (leathers) with his signature hair.
Do you think you’ll do some renders of him in a simple street scene eventually?
EricArtMan: Thanks. I haven’t thougth that far ahead about his environment. I might try just a simple textured background with some studio lighting first.
Does anyone think his skin is too glowy? It may need some shader tweaking.
His skin does look a little glowy and almost pinkish. Its coming along really well though. Keep up the good work!
I did some more skin shader work. The detail is a little more subtle with these new settings, but I think it matches more closely to the photos. Also still no spec map, hence the shiny look. Thoughts?
still have to add a few alpha planes to the beard in the areas where it would stick off of the face.
