Digital Sculpts by Darren Wallace

Thanks!
Yeah the scale is still unclear. I think something around 1 foot head to butt could be cool. Couldn’t fly in the real world but who cares? lol. Making it facehugger size adds 50% to the terrifying factor.

It’s amazing how you you keep adding detail … the posed version deserves top row… how long did it take to render that turntable in Vray?

Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance as I’m very new here, but how does one get in the top row? is it purely by chance someone at ZBC finds your work or can you submit?

Rendered at 720p it took about 1.5 - 2min per frame. 299 frames for a 360 spin, Around 3.5hrs total. . Clay render @ 30sec, Wireframe @ 6sec.

I think someone from the Zbrush team pick them. Not sure either…but keep posting things like this and you will be there !

Working on this guy for a job pitch. Start to “finish” in 2 days, quick and dirty. It’s based on the classic Godzilla look, bit goofy like it’s a man in a rubber suit.

Made a test animation.

One hour speed sculpt of a lions head. I really should set time aside to do fast sculpts. It’s fun going against the clock and hoping you end up with a result that looks better than a mangled blob by the end of the hour.

Two hour sculpt of a gorilla head. Was only going to be one hour but I was on a roll. Much happier with this compared to the lion.

Really great stuff! Gorilla speed sculpt is nice and the Godzilla animation is killer!!

Cheers,

Thanks Josh!

Keeping the primate theme, thought I’d have a try at Caesar.

Giger inspired concept WIP.

Picked up this old project. “Finalized” the sculpt and started texturing.
