Chinese Dragon WIP

Once again learned more than I thought possible in this project.

  • Use symmetry modling to create base form BEFORE posing.
  • Do not delete lower subdivisions untill you are sure you are not moving around any more.
  • Once you have all the parltes formed, cut it up and save out as elements so you can pose more esily.
  • Alpha textures are too cool.
  • Layers are your friends.
  • Must learn more about painting, materials, lights and alphas.
    Thanks for all your encouragement.
Must make an end here and start something new with the new information.
    So here it is:

ZB2 for all modling and painting. PS for the sky and mountains.
The clouds are modified from the spiral tool in the default toolset.

Awesome stuff here. I really like how you have modelled the clouds. WOW

Thanks for your feed back!
I added a footnote about the clouds …

I like that dragon. I would like to see it dressed up like a chinese dragon in a parade…perhaps a balloon in a parade. I think your hard work there will serve you well in his many future uses.

very clever use of the spiral tool as well!!

keep on zbrushing!

Funny you should say that. I have carried the Dragon head in the San Francisco Chinese New Year parade and designed several floats as well!

Fabulous!

How would I cut and paste elements of a model? With this Dragon, I wanted to reuse the Claws on each leg but ended up having to make each from scratch. Did I miss something?

You might try my ZifClickScript, it will allow you to copy and paste zspheres from one part of your model (or another model) to any other part. This would allow you to use the same claws in your next wonderful endevour

super cool:D

I thought I would share a little of what I did with Projection master… Decided to go without this time, but it was good practice.
