Buffystyle vamp (WIP)

A LITTLE too crazy? I must hav been stark raving mad last night…I´ve toned down the purple a bit. kinda liked some of it but it was way too much. a render is coming soon…

Ok so here´s the texture. might still be a bit purple. I seem to have a hard time letting go of that purple stuff  . So i guess there´s something about it that I like…We´ll see what I´ll do with it. What do you guys think?

That´s all for now. And Black crane, a render with the teeth and all is comming soon.

That’s more like it, the texture is really coming together. My only suggestion would be to tone down the purple a bit more around the nose and the mouth. I like it around the eyes, but I find it a bit too distracting around those other areas. Keep up the fine work! :+1:

This is really good !
The sculpting and texturing is superb.

And you say your a noob !!

Your stuff looks pro too me !
Is there something your not telling us ?

This is fantastic, though I have to say, are you sure it’s a Buffy vamp? The reason I ask is that the sculpt is almost identical to Marcus the Bat Vampire in Underworld.

Well, regardless of what it is, it’s fantastic (and better than anything I’ve done.)

SS810 Thank u!

No there are no secrets:lol:

Well i´m a noob when it comes to 3d graphics. But i´m an artist, and I work with sculpture, video and installations among ather things, and i used to be a painter. So now I´m trying to apply what I´ve learned from that and apply it to a digital plattform. I´m still struggeling wiyh the technical bits. Zbrush is really great cause it gives u a way of sculpting that is very intuitiv. I would like to animate my creations, am looking for an equally intuitiv way to remesh the sculpt to get better topology( well i guess i have to wait for 2.5:cry: ).

Tnx! I was going for something simmilar to the master from Buffy (S01).

But I drifted away from it pretty erly in the process. just had him in my head as a loose reference.

And oh yeah… he loks a lot like Marcus the Bat Vampire, I didn´t think about it.
I liked that character a lot so I guess he kinda stuck in my head. It´s funny how that works.

So maby we´ll call my guy “Snak the bat vampire, byffystyle!”

Rendered in maya with mental ray, using the misss fast skin shader.

Looking cool snak, but I think (and I’m sure you know) that the eyes and teeth textures need more work. I think the eyes should look more creature-like, and the teeth should have a more moist look to them and perhaps be a bit more yellow particularly near the gums. You could google some canine (dog teeth) images perhaps for reference. Just some suggestions, keep it up

there is something i do not like too much in the pic
i think it is the lighting and/ or the material
but i can’t say how to fix it.
someone else an idea ? ^^

edit:
looked at it again and imho :
probably its because the light seems to come from left+behind but the face is quite well lit
another thing : the specular level of the material seems quite homogene
probably you need to work on you specular map

but nevertheless:
this is a great work !!!

I also think that the perspective is too extreme.
He looks a lot more evil and disgusting on the ortogonal views somehow.
But there he looks really good tho. :+1:

Well this aint noobish work!! :bulb:  :sunglasses: great what you have done with the collors btw!:+1:

It’s really coming along well! But the thing that is not working for me is it just seems like there is so much sculpting detail going on, especially in the cheekbone and lower cheek areas. It seems to overpower some of the underlying structure of the face. Also as said in other posts, the material can be worked on as well with the specularity.

But overall, a very good model.
