When you use the insert brushes to create the Thorns on the creature, do you freeze SubD levels first on the creature or do you do it on a copy of the mesh thats got no subd levels then delete that mesh and append the thorns as a new subtool onto the original??? Just want to nail down what you think is the best workflow for insert brush as there amazing but Im still not rock solid on the best production methodology for there usage

If you might be so kind as to answer a question for me…I noticed the screengrab of Polypaint layers used for your texture painting. Do you have any advice for avoiding issues when using zb layers with Polypaint? I always seem to get weird artifacts and blending when I try to do this. Layers work great for me with sculpting but never with painting. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
