I hope I have the terminology correct. I have a bunch of jpeg textures which I would like to quickly convert to psd. Can Photoshop do this? Or can another program that someone knows of? 
this will do batch conversion for .BMP not .PSD i think not sure on the formatt.

If you have Photoshop you should be able to record a conversion and then apply the action to all the files. If you don’t have photoshop, Jasc’s image robot will do it easily(www.jasc.com).
If you own paint shop pro then take a look at Winimages(www.blackbeltsystems.com) it’s a fantastic image convertor, fax & morph system rolled into one.

Picaview is your best bet and it has a trial.
no need to do 1 at a time it will fly threw them and convert in a milasecond zoom zoom.
converting 600 texture in a miniute and a half or so is very fast about 75 pic’s a second
Photoshop can indeed do that, quite well, and it’s not very difficult to accomplish. Just record an Action for your conversion process, then run a Batch command(File:Automate:Batch),utilizing that Action, selecting the source and destination folders before you hit OK.
Check your manual(For Photoshop 6 it is page 394 for Actions and 405 for Batch Processing) or help files.

i like Picaview it has other option i use it for my viewer i just right click over a image and there is the pic thumb nail i can allso click the thumb nail to inlarge and alot of other goodies
Thanks for the info. I am using Photpshop LE which came with my Wacom tablet, so I hope this works. I want to find out if you can upgrade Photoshop LE also, but couldn’t find anything on their site. Thanks again!
