A damaged Column

Another update!

Worked more on the lighting (its still a wip and a test one). Also placed the scorpion and polipainted it. Thinking to make rests of another column to put it near the camera with the scorpion and play a bit more with DOF.

@spaceboy412: All the vegetation are Maya Brushes, you can select a geometry and paint a brush over it (you have lots to choose). I have mainly selected the ivy one and then tune it to have the shape and density I wanted, converted it into poly object and make a new Uv for them (to have more than a leaf texture)

is the scorpion dancing???

lol looks like hes jumping around :).
Your column just rocks so much detail.Very well done indeed :).

About the dancing scorpion: “Thinking to make rests of another column to put it near the camera with the scorpion and play a bit more with DOF.”

That, or the stress of modeling/texturing something and the rush of placing it on the scene to see how it looks!

Hello guys,

I'm done with my "small excercise". Originally I just wanted to practice painting a damaged stone in bodypaint from just a base layer + zbrush detail, but then I decided to go to Modo for rendering and learn myself a bit more (this is the first time I render something out from Zbrush).

Id like to work more on it but I simply dont have more time to. Here is the last render made in Modo using the amazing GoZ and some of the process I did while doing the project.

Even if you dont believe, I got inspired by my favourite painters, Turner and Caspar Friedrich :).
