The original HD Render All script has now been updated as a plugin. This is for rendering all subtools with HD Geometry if used. It makes it possible to use perspective for the render.
Update 11/20/2008: This plugin is now available for ZBrush 3.1 PC and ZBrush 3.12 Mac. You can get it from the Download Center. Unzip the zip file and place the .zsc file in your ZBrush3/ZStartup/ZPlugs folder. Restart ZBrush and the Render HD Geometry sub menu will be at the bottom of the Render palette. Using HD Render All: 1. You must have a polymesh loaded for the script to work. Draw it on the canvas and press 'T' to enter Edit mode. 2. Adjust the position and perspective of your model. 3. When ready, press the Render All button. When the render is finished, export the image from the Document palette. 4. Pressing the Reset button will clear the render and restore your model to Edit mode. To render a turntable with HD Geometry use Turntable Plus. Thanks to Bingo_Jackson for the method for this version. I hope you find the plugin useful, |

It's not secret. The original method used a subtool which had tiny polys at each corner to preserve the perspective while the other subtools were switched off. The new method switches the inactive subtool opacity to 0. As long as all the subtools are 'ON' (and the script makes sure of this), the perspective is maintained but the inactive subtools don't show. Each subtool in turn is rendered (in HD if it has it) and then snapshot to the canvas.Last edited by marcus_civis : 05-28-07 at 12:21 AM. |

Just the heads up on an update. There's a bug in ZBrush that can cause a crash if you use subtool transparency when there is more than one document Layer. The script now switches off the Render:Flatten button before activating subtool transparency, so it's safe to use it with more than one layer.
