    Default SockGardener's sketchbook

I'm optimistically calling this thread a sketchbook in the hope that I will create more things to add to it
Meanwhile here are a few random images to get it started.
All created in ZBrush, usually rendered in Cinema 4d, finished up in Photoshop.

Any comments or crits are more than welcome!

Although far from finished I don't think I have the skills or knowledge to take this any further.
So many things to learn, time to get on to the next thing!

    Another quick-ish image.
All created and rendered in ZBrush.
Shame the colours have become so over-saturated

Nice work. I kinda think it's funny how we can look at the ZSphere model of Tigger and know exactly who it it is going to be!

I'd be interested in hearing about your C4D importing and rendering process.
I have a problem with getting a low enough mesh imported for rendering and yet high enough to as not to see all the polygons.
I don't use bump-mapping at all in my work, so maybe that's where I'm falling down?

Yeah, ZSpheres – still one of my favourite things in ZBrush!

Regarding getting things from ZBrush to Cinema 4D, it very much depends on what you're planning to do with your sculpt in c4d.
If all I want is to render a still I just delete the lower subdivision levels for all subtools and hit the GoZ button.
Cinema copes pretty well with a small number of high poly objects in a scene.
If you want to make your scene a little more memory efficient you can Unsubdivide your model in cinema which will reconstruct your lowest subdivision level and automatically add a sculpting tag.
You can then Freeze your sculpt which apparently frees up a bunch of ram.

If your planning to animate then that's a whole other story…

Thanks for the tips on using C4D. Definitely no animation! I'll have to give that a try...
