    thanks for the feedback.

My pc is a few years old now. 12 GB ram I7 cpu and 1 GB ATI graphic card. Looking to upgrade this year.

The best way I found is to use a lot of sub tools with even topology. Keep each sub tool under 10 000 000 polygons and leave all ( or most) the sub tools at the lowest sub Div while working. You can also turn up the memory limit under mem- preferences menu.

i do alot of polygon hiding when working and rendering, too.
of course, with qremesher- alot of the unused and unseen polys can be greatly reduced, feeing resources for the highly detailed surfaces.
...at least i think so... i haven't really done too much with it yet!

    Thanks for the feedback.

This is Sabretooth from Xmen. I used an existing (skinny)male base mesh and sculpted the characters details. I used topogun for retopology and finished the modeling in 3d max. Then projected the high poly details back onto the new topology and cleaned it up a bit while adding the finer details. I used zbrush UV master for the uv flattening and rearranged them in 3d max. The hair was made using Hair farm which was a lot quicker and easier than 3d max hair and fur.

    Default troll

Trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings.

Modeled and textured for animation. Modeled in 3d Max, Zbrush and rendered in Vray. Hair made using Hairfarm
