So, here's a finished dragon, retopo, polypaint and all ))
I didn't pay too much mind to a proper photoshoping of the BPR result, just overlayed a cavity map to bring out small scales. I also decided to forfeit the background in favor of plain black, thought I'd rather spend the extra time on the next sculpt. Any criticism would be welcome and appreciated.

I really like the horse and the dragon. The dragon has a really nice polypaint if only i could create such tone with it.

Blueferret, RazielBlair - Thanks guys, it's nice to have some feedback once in a while. And twice as good to have a positive one )))

Well, here's another one of my pathetic attempts at Zbrushing a dragon. This one is still a WIP, no polypaint and some minor sculpting left to do.

Here's the final version of a dragon from the previous post.
It's a fan-art for Naomi Novik's "Temeraire" series. Those, who had read the books, will easily recognise a kazilik breed )))

Comments and critique are welcome, as usual ))

Hey dude! The last one looks really good.. There are still a few lumpy areas but they are small and easily fixable (for ex: the horns)... but I can see a huge improvement in the structure of the model compared to the other ones.

The last thing I wanted to tell you was about the composition.. If you decide to compose your image and bring in a background like that, you might want to get more information about blending the model into the environment (for ex: establish the shadows of the dragon according to the lighting that you have in your environment image).

Other than that, just keep working and working... I'm a newbie as well but I know that the more you work the better you'll become.

Yumme, thanks for the tips )
And yeah, you got me on the environment, it's really was "quick-and-dirty" sort of job. Had the urge to upload, you see I'll try to restrain myself in the future )))

Yeah man! You've got the right idea, just keep going at it.

Looking forward to seeing more progress.

So, I finally decided to get off my lazy butt and teach myself some sculpting for a change. I decided to do a series of sketches, hopefully improving my zbrushing in the process.
My initial goal is one sketch a week, and with my lame sculpting skills it's probably enough for starters. Here's the result of the first week - something I call a Kaiser-clock)
The concept-art was done by my good friend Chiko, so part of the credit (however dubious) for this sketch goes to him.

So my laziness took the better of me again, thus making me fail my own internal deadline ))) Nevertheless, better late than never, so here goes nothing

Some great first works! It's embarrassing looking at some of my first stuff.

From the beginning of the thread to now, you have progressed quite a bit.

    I love the second dragon!

Lumin8, thanks, appreciate your feedback ))

Nice to know, that it's not just my wishful thinking, that my stuff, low-grade and lumpy as it is, actually improves from piece to piece ))

Ok, here goes another feeble attempt at sculpting something worthwhile.
Not sure about worthwhileness (not sure, if that's even a word), but I certanly got my share of practice with this one, so the time wasn't entirely wasted.
