    Default My first post

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I bought ZB at version 3.5 and spent a few months learning it. I must admit i was daunted at first, and I still have much to learn, but i love it Anyhow, this is my first real try at something besides a doodle. Its just zspheres at this point but i will be ready to convert to a poly mesh soon and begin sculpting. I will post updates as i go and I am sure you all will be more that happy to criticize my work.

Sorry about the image not displaying earlier.... obviously i am lousy at following directions, but i fired up IE and everything went smooth this time.

That`s a great basemesh you have there.
I`m looking forward to seeing the next updates.

    Default mesh update/pose

here is the latest. It looks like i may have to resort to posing this in another app as the wings are giving me trouble with zsphere based rigging. I am sure i must be doing something wrong but i cant for the life of me get past it. But here is what i have so far.dragonpose1.jpg

Nice job until now. I imported a mesh from an external program and have to say that i am struggling also. Every time you find new problems and have to search a long time for solutions.

To fill between the wing fingers i did a top down orthogonal screen capture. Opened that in GIMP, and used it as a reference for an alpha map, black and white with a slight gaussian blur. I loaded that map into ZB and used the Make 3D command for alphas. I then move it and scaled it into posistion. I used the clip curve brush to define the trailing edges. then used a combo of planar cut and smooth to get the wing fingers to bleed through, merged them into one subtool, created the adaptive skin for the dragon from the zspheres, and then used the zsphere construct as an armature which i had to scale slightly to fit inside the adaptive mesh.
