    Default Hulk Model.

    Hi folks,
Following on from my comic themed Batman thread, my latest model is The Hulk.
I always saw him as a brutal, gnarled and weathered character, rather than the baby faced hulk or the male model pretty boy hulk of the two film offerings. (I shouldn't criticise really as they were clearly awesome models!)
Anyway, here is my vision of The Hulk.
As per my usual workflow, Base Model in Max, sculpt and textured in ZBrush4. Hope you like.

I like your version. Good job.

ps: How do you edit your post to get the thumbnail attachments linking to the full size and with more than 1 thumbnail like you have?

    Cheers Zber2,
To add the thumbnails I press the Upload Image or File button in the Attach Files box below the text box. Once i have uploaded one image I just repeat the process with more images. This seems to add them as thumbnails rather than huge images in the thread.

I will try to attach one with the other method, see what happens!

Hi KMaddix....... That's what I do, but it always posts the big image without thumbnails.

I like this a lot. I think its a much cooler look for the hulk. I think it upstages your batman too

    Thanks for the comments folks.
Zber2- Maybe it is because I am using firefox? I just tried the other method where you have to type the code into your post and I get the big version.

Julien- Thanks, I went for a comic version of the hulk but more gnarled. The skin paint will hopefully look better when I do a Mental Ray render at some point, with all the whistles and bells that goes with it.

Alfonsopryo- Cheers, I agree, it certainly took more concentration that my Batman, so many wrinkles to sculpt! Great fun though.

hahaha, I love his face. Looks like a grumpy ol' hulk. I think it is a nice, fresh take on him. One suggestion would be to soften that sharp plane change under pectoralis. It would fit better with the other muscle forms.

    nice work!

You have a very cool style (on the batman too). Love the "-too old for this sh.." look.

One crit; It would really help if you lit the model for presentation. The larger shapes tend to get noised out by the finer detail..

    Awesome model either way!

Beneto- Thanks, yeah I see what you mean by the sharp line there, I actually modelled him with angular lines at the start to keep with the sharp chin theme through the body but I got rid of most of them as they didn't lend to muscle flow very well.

thomasfenger- Cheers, I am hoping to do a decent MentalRay render at some point soon using all the maps, hopfully some of the skin painting detail will pop out more there too. We shall see.

Here is another image, this time some grabs of the various stages of creation.

Awesome work mate. Refreshing take on a popular character. The gnarled look really makes me think he's quite old and feedup of being the hulk. I agree with getting some lighting in there and maybe a backdrop of some destroyed buildings etc etc. Or even a retirement home (smashed)

Keep up the awesome work, look forward to more!
