Final Frontier Eddie (From Iron Maiden)

Ok I been hooked on Eddie since the first time I saw an Iron Maiden Concert way back in the 70's. I found a site that has every Eddie version ever done and they had the new Final Frontier Eddie and thought I would try.

(BTW in the video the space pilot fighting Eddie looks Just like the one they have on the box cover for Starcraft. And Eddie is a variant of the pretador without his mask. Wonder if they are both coincidences?

Here is the start of my sculpt. I started with a basic skull and lengthened it, then shortened the top gumline area and narrowed the eye sockets. I am now starting to build up the various bones on the upper part of the skull and have to work on blending the teeth and fangs in. I then have to modify the lower jaw a little to take the extra fangs on the front and the side fangs from the final version

I been working on the brow and cheek ridges trying to get the shape a little more refined. Now I am going to rough in the lower jaw so that I can get an overall picture before I go too crazy with the upper head.

Ok I been working on the lower jaw and Fangs. The next thing I want to do is to build up the top of the skull to give me nice definition of the skull plate and add some bubbly brains to the top of his head.

Hey man this is awesome, are you gonna finish it? I'd love to see how it turns out, I've been working on making the stage set from this tour and now I'm about to model this Eddie
I modelled the more classic Eddie a couple of months back, never got round to finishing it though :P:

yea eventually I will finish him and who knows maybe even add a body at some point. however lately I been so busy with real work that I havent had time to mess with it.
