    Default Rotate tool

I must be dumb. I imported an object, and I'm trying to use the rotate tool, but nothing I do actually affects anything.
Someone please end my personal embarrassment and give me a quick how-to on using the damn rotate too.

The rotate tool work by selecting an holding an area and then dragging it outward in the direction you want to rotate. Also, make sure you do not have the "global" setting on. it is at the top near your brush icon. With the global setting ON you will rotate the entire selected object. Hope that helps, I am pretty new myself.

You are correct I forgot to mention my symetry was off ,but it can be used with symetry on if it is required to rotate the same piece on either side
