    Default Export to *.3DS format

I just found this software about an hour ago... really neat to play with. Bu I have used Swift 3D which will import the following formats...

    3DS - 3D Studio
    Z3D - ZAM Format
    EPS - Postscript
    DXF - AutoCAD

Is it possible to export to one of these formats... 3DS would be best... DXF or DWG would be the next best. Then I could make something, import it into another program, and do some test animations and such. That would be AWESOME.

    Thank you,
    Jerry

Sculptris can currently only output .OBJ format, future format support is unkown. But there are many other apps which can open .OBJ format and convert it to a format you can use.

also, Sculptris won't really produce animation friendly meshes (to many vertices), at least it's not ment to. The most commonly used technique for animation is to retopologize your models into useful low resolution geometry and project surface details to bump or displacement maps.

I wasn't really looking as much to animate so much as include as background objects... like create rocks, fruits, whatever... then import the mesh and paint later.

So far I haven't fully figured out the paint... the couple of things I made went totally white when i clicked paint... but I need to play around with it. Mostly I wanted to get a shape i could use. I'm doing a riverbed... the ability to create some realistic rocks would be nice... this software could do it.

I'll look for an OBJ to 3DS or some program that can open OBJ and perhaps export 3DS or MAX. Likely there is some freeware package to play with out there.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

i c. Check out Blender. It's a *fully* featured 3d modeling, animation, and rendering app for free. I believe it may convert the files you need.
