Thumbs up Just started - much help needed

    Brilliant program.
I am just starting to feel my way around.
    I have a few questions.
Are there any tools, brushes and other importable zBrush stuff that can be downloaded?
Are there any scripts out there that can be downloaded?
The program seems like something outa this world but I find it fairly confusing to grasp the fundamentals. I suppose I’m not that bright because I don’t find the menus too intuitive.
Like other emails I have read, the difference in the version of the manuals and the software makes it frustrating to locate things.
For me, following the construction of tools in a tutorial is the best way of learning the power of the modifiers.
Is it possible to get more tools with tutorials?
I haven’t looked at scripts yet, but are there any out there that can be used as tutorials?
    regards

Check out my Wacked Out Works ZBrush Tutorials, no tools yet, but I show you a few techniques I use. You can download tools from Pixologic's site, Southern Graphics has some good tools.

    Welcome Moxie

Zscripts come with the next version of Zbrush, so I bet we will see alot of those after it is released.
Meanwhile, I have put together a page of Zbrush links and excetera that has some pointers to what tools and tutorials that are currently out there.

    Z-Place

There is I believe a current project ongoing now to compile all the wealth of information that was on the Zacademy, hopefully that will soon be available.

Meanwhile, experiment and you will find that the interface will grow on you, it is very well done. Zbrush will force you to think in different ways than a conventional graphic program but the results that you can achieve is only limited by your imagination.

Hi Moxie, and Welcome to ZBrush Central!

    >Are there any scripts out there that can be downloaded?

    >I haven’t looked at scripts yet, but are there any out there that can be used as tutorials?

ZBrush version 1.23 will have ZScripts that are included with the program, as well as ones that will be available for Download. There are ZScript tutorials that have already been made or are in the works, and since ZScripts are so easy to make, I'm sure that many ZBrushers will make their own tutorials and post them online. Version 1.23 will be out very shortly! Until then, please try some of the tutorials meantioned in the above posts.

    >The program seems like something outa this world but I find it fairly confusing to grasp the fundamentals. I suppose I’m not that bright because I don’t find the menus too intuitive.

Hopefully time, patience, and some tutorials will solve this. The learning curve is different for everyone.

    >Like other emails I have read, the difference in the version of the manuals and the software makes it frustrating to locate things.

We're currently working to bring the manuals up-to-date. I know this won't help you now, but please try using ZBrush Central as a resource for learning. Since this is such a dynamic learning environment, you'll learn things here that you would never learn from any manual. Ask questions! People are generally very happy to help.
