Default Z4 Beta Testing By: Bryan Wynia

It has been a pleasure to be evolved in the process of beta testing Zbrush 4. I want to thank everyone at Pixologic and all the beta testers for a great time. Here are a few characters I created while working in Zbrush 4.

-I found the ClayBuildup and Move Elastic brushes to be great new additions to my sculpting pipeline.

-The improved layers and subtool menus were incredibly helpful while working on these characters.

-I feel the Best Preview Render and Create Maps functions brought my work to the next level though and highly recommend using it.

I will be updating this post with a new character and prints shorty, as well as some brief tutorials on how I created these characters.

A big thanks again and I hope you enjoy!

    Great stuff!

I´m very curious about the scale and machine used for the print. It looks like one of the better examples of 3d printing I´ve seen so far!

PascalR - Thanks, I'm really pleased with the results.

    chemkid - Thank you.

rasmusW - Thanks, I hope to have another sculpt later this week.

mhy01 - The printed is 5 inches tall and was printed on a Objet Eden.

Aliasfx - Thanks buddy! This was painted and rendered in Zbrush 4. I comped everything together together in Photoshop. I also played with some colors and levels.

    darkmummy - Hahahahah, thanks man.

alexleia - Thanks Alex, always good to hear from you.

Here are the maps I used to create the final Bat Boy image. Using Best Preview Render and a collection of matcaps I was able to create all the maps I needed incredibly quickly. Note that I adjusted the colors in Photoshop of my shadow, ao, and cavity maps to push the colors of the final image.

Hope this helps and thanks again!
