    Default Pirate robot

Hello everybody, I made my last model and I wanted to show you it. A pirate robot, living in a old world without human where are only living robots, killing and stolling treasures to get batteries to live. I´ll try to make a illustration with that. I used zbrush to make little details and scratches over the metal and to make the clothes, sword, bags and others..

    Hope you like it!
    Cheers

Hey nice work. Love the metal texture and the little lights at the end of the hair. My crit, the leather items around the wrists, I am sure there is a proper name for them, look odd to me. My suggestion would be to tighten them around the metal, at the moment they look look a little indecisive/floating for killer pirate to be wearing. Or lose them, looking at the render you have posted that does not have them, the silhouette is to my eyes much easier to read, and cleaner, the arms you can see them. And from behind on the untextured view, its looking a little cluttered, losing some character that you have worked so hard to cultivate. Good job!

Very original character. Great mechanical robot indeed. Good render also.

    Keep up the terrific work.

    Default reply robot

smash - No, I made it in 3dsmax with vray. I used zbrush to make some sculpt works.. and for extract displacement, cavity and normal maps. Thanks dude for your words.

hbeachman - thanks man for your critics, maybe you are right, but I thought on this part as a important part of the pirate´s design, but that´s why I made other renders with out the clothes and weapons, to see other details

SuperHer0 - it is like a pirate´s sleeves of leather

digitalmind - oh! I forgot about this serie but I check it on internet and now I remember it, so cool!

Capital_G - yes, me too, maybe is some other there out but I didn´t see one before yet.

Paul from Australia - thanks my friend, I didn´t make a cool robot on this past years, so I decide to make one cool with nice textures and metals. so happy to see that you like it guys

I decide to make the monkey robot over him, so let´s go to make it and show you! and thinkin about a 360 video, I´m imagining the robot with his monkey and some batteries (like treasures for him) on the floor. Any cool ideas?

    cheers

Two of my favourite things mixed into one!

    Beautiful work mate.

Did you do any concept sketches or just evolve as you went along?

    Great idea! xD

I really like your cloth modeling... I think you could bump up the diffuse a bit both in saturation and contrast to give a bit more life.

If you did a miniature pirate ship for him to stand on i would fall on my knees and mary the sea right away!!!
