Nice one
close to my thoughts on sculpting and portraiture.
Roman portraiture is a great school. The first real portraits of individuals in art history.

Nice modern mayan !
Blender difficulties?

In general,
/preferences/input/emulate 3 button mouse, /turntable
prefs/interface/zoomToMousePosition, /rotateAroundSelection
these will emulate a more sculptris like navigation

Nice one,
you probably used DOF mask or fog (similar),
this blue tint doesn't work with the dark background, epecially the castshadow effect.
BTW advanced age doesn't exist on the net.
Blender isn't more difficult than other similar apps. It's a massive app and after learning the basics you better start learning some parts only. Like basic box modeling, sculpting, retopology, UVs, painting textures. Then the renderer and the nodal material system, it seems difficult but it's easy and logical. One by one. I can help. In your case I suggest to start from how to set up a scene and do rendering. Blender can import heavy sculptris meshes. Add one-two lights, a mixed glossy and simple material. All these in a cycles-blender build.
You can download latest versions from http://www.graphicall.org/
Then enjoy a decent presentation of your sculpting.
