    I would think you need a lot more then 1 render to get a job....it's a pretty vague render too.

    You should do a couple of models, and probably show off different angles and wireframes etc. Since there are alot of modelers out there, and always someone better, you need more than one render and a wish for a job.

    It's not easy getting a job, even a "washing toilets" job isnt that easy to get, so you need something that can compete with the others I guess. And I guess a year at VFS or a similare school wouldn't hurt either.

    Having a BA in art doesnt mean anything. THe model seems alright, some close up shots maybe?

    I think you need to make it more interesting. The design and the render too.
    Now the character is quite boring.

    You could add some accessories...belt bags or knifes... light armor parts, etc... And some color variation.

    About presenting the character: a nice pose and better lighting can help to make it even more interesting.
