Here's a picture I found online of the older action figure of Battle Armor Skeletor, sculptrisnewb. Might refresh your memory a bit since you only have a few years on me...

Yeah, I forgot just how ugly and deformed they look by todays standards until I went to search for references.

Thats because wayyyyyy back then the guys that designed them didnt have the like of Sculptris and ZBrush to help em out
so they just made stumpy legs and webbed feet.

Thanks mermaidine. Hopefully I can do better the next time around.

And the few that could have sculpted better toys out of clay probably weren't in the business like McFarlen Toys are doing now. That would be one hell of a fun job to have though.

Skeletor doesn't look too threatening there with his bandy legs.
I hope you are feeling better Spork.

Ah, the age of 80's cartoons. Back then, nobody cared that they were 30-minute commercials for action figures. There were definitely some creative ideas flowing back then.

I really like that merman lizard. It looks like a creepy cross between Mer-Man from He-Man and the Little Mermaid.

Thanks Knacki. Got to love Sculptris.

I know dreamz, not sure what they were thinking when they designed all of them that way back then. Almost looks like a forced perspective. Kind of like you are seeing the figure through one of those lenses that is making the head really big and then tapering out the rest of the body. As for me, at least this cough isn't watering my eyes anymore. So, YEAAA! I might actually get to focus on the screen..

Thanks whale. And times haven't changed much. Now some have their own web pages that combine the cartoons and marketing for the toys. They could still be doing a lot better, but it's to be expected.

Ok, here's the womans body that I made a long time ago. Still would have had a long way to go and I'm still afraid of trying to make a womans hands and feet look right... Pretty much everything about making a woman believable is a daunting task to me. All curves that move into more curves. Next one I start will be with refs.

Glad you liked it. Here's a bit more of the body. Not sure where to take it just yet. Maybe some rock formations on the back and arms or something.
