Went a bit too dark and orange with the color again. Looked similar to the photo when I started, but by the time I put it all on it was pretty noticeable. Left it anyway for now. I'll get it right eventually.

Here's a close up of that area. Those were 2 areas I did a bit quicker than I should have. The eyebrows I just kind of drew in in a bit of a haphazard way to kind of mimic how fuzzy they were in the picture. The part that's a pain is to then try and get the same look when drawing in the other eyebrow... It really could have used some additional colors to give that salt and pepper hair look of that photo as well as using a really small bump brush to go back over some of the hairs.

The eye was put in even quicker since I used taron's eye texture that he made with Macrea. I kept the initial eye spheres with a slightly yellowish tinge to them, since it's a bit of an older guy, and then painted on the eye texture at about 30% or so. It was a bit bigger than I'd hoped, but with the model turned a little it wasn't as noticeable. I really need to make a few of my own eye materials at some point. Plus it's just kind of cool to watch the eyes move around as you move your model around...

    Hope that helps a bit.

Watching some tv and realized I had some time to throw together an eye material that would better match the size of the sphere that I used.

Finally getting to work on the newest challenge over at the original Sculptris forum. It's about your favorite childhood hero/villains. I forgot all about the Skeksis, but I'm awaiting one hell of a rendition from taron for those. Instead I decided to go with Skeletor from He-Man. I'm going to try to go with a bit of an original direction for him while still hopefully keeping him recognizable. Been a bit sick lately, so I can't stare at the screen long enough to get as much of him done as I'd like...

Thanks mermaidine. Glad you enjoyed some of these.

The similarities to Spawn was unintentional on this one. I didn't even notice until you said that. I blame the cough syrup... On the other hand, that might be an interesting direction to go with this especially since it's just for fun.

Smoothed out the pecs a bit so it didn't resemble spawn as much. Just barely adding in the arms and back area. I did add in the strap though. Figured that since it was held in through the skin in the front it needed something as strange in the back as well.

Thanks dreamz. I'm hoping it turns out ok. It's a bit of an extra challenge to have your head swimming while trying to focus on getting some of these forms in. When I'm over this sickness I may look back on this one and wonder what the hell I was thinking...

I did try something similar with the back and arms to the pecs. Kind of looked like striated muscle. I still have a lot to do with this one.

Thanks mermaidine, but if everyone else out here is any indication, it will be at least a few more days. That cough syrup is always fun though...

Well, tried to take him into paint even though I'm not done yet. Can't paint along an edge to save my life right now. I think I may change the color of the ring in his chest to black when I get done with the sculpting.

Thanks Mr.T. The cartoons from the early 80's were the only ones I got to see. I did have the older action figures though... Looking for some references for him I found out there were a few other cartoons including some that came out fairly recently. Skeletor just seemed like he would be more fun than sculpting He-Man. Looking at it now I should have done a lot more with the concept. For one, the way that the strap is attatched to the body could have been used throughout many different areas to keep the look going. Not sure if I would have wanted to go that direction with it, but it could have an interesting look. I'll probably save it to push it a bit further at some point. For now, I think I may start back from a sphere and try something either with armor or maybe even a kind of robotic feel to him. Not sure yet, both will probably be just as much of a pain to do.

    Pretty Cool Spork's.
But I really cant remember Skeletor or He-Man, being so young an all
I guess its a real good likeness.
