    Default sci-fi character

Hi everyone! i've been around here for a while and got no chance to post any of my own.
finally i brought some pieces of recent work i'd like to share.

i referred to tones of game art, concept and 3d artists' works from all around world.
i used maya for base meshes and zbrush for details. hope you enjoy!

    cheers.

    very nice!
i'm actually working on a soldier, looking for references like yours, halo, timesgate section 8, hellgate etc...
i really like what you have translate it into your model, and the low poly render is really nice!
    congratulation.

All you guys designing and modeling bulky armor like this should be one day penalized to rig such a character so that he can at least walk...

Regarding the question you listed in your critique image about how textures like that are created. I do not know how the artist here created his, but you might want to look at the ZProject Brush. It is just about the best method I have found yet when combined with masking, deformation>inflate and polygroups for getting an exacting texture (color or geometry) into a model. Depending on the model shape sometimes it is best to "texture" sculpt the model using a similar method, but with textures generated outside ZB in something like Photoshop.

Very nice hard surface work. Some areas are a touch soft in the close ups, but it looks great in the full view. Good work!
