Because my model is dropped on canvas, and BPR has no effect in this case... And because I'm using Zbrush 3.1. Zbrush 4 is great but it's the "too many" version of Zbrush. Too many brushes, too many options on Tool pallete, too many things that doesn't work anymore... So, I tend to use version 3.1 for the most part Version 3.1 is simple and perfect.

Thank for all your comments guys, I'm really happy that you appreciate my works! More to come.

Im not quite sure what Robert E. Howard would have thought about this interpretation of the great Conan. To make him more look like a live creature first thing that pops into my mind is: it is CONAN. Conan obeys a pretty dark god which gave him a big sword and a simple codex and kind of the legitimation of being the ultimate Babarian. He frontally kills evil wizards which for expample can morph to snakes, battle half gods right after he survived as only person a big battleground, become king because he can and give it after a few years because it started to get boring, kills dozens of enemies and so on.... I guess when u put him in a area like these is the most efficent way to make Conan come to live. Hope this was what u meant with beleavable looking .Great work, a fantastic thread and im looking forward how Conan will end up .

Thank MDGeist. I hope I can achieve his personality properly in the end...

And here's no real update, but a more careful render test.

Ha, I have not been at your post for a few days. That's aswome how your render turned out like it was painted by hand. Like the old pencil and water color technique of days gone by. Love it.
BTW, are you able to show us your setup for the materials used and the render?? I am working on an image right now and would love to give it the feel you have here i.e. not the CG look.

    Thank you very much, guys!

JoseConseco: No, it's the Conan of original movie, I simply made a caricature.

Dragon: I feel glad to know that you think that my renders have this painting feeling. I believe that this happens because I'm primarly a 2d artist, so my perception of light and colors is heavily influenced by this. About my material and render settings, nothing really fancy. I'm a really old school guy so I use just Zbrush default materials, like basic material, Sphericalblend and so on. For the skin, I use a modified version of Antropus material, that you can find on his Picasso tutorial. And I render in passes, like people used to discuss and do here around 2004, 2005. And compose them in Photoshop. So i can judge by eye what should be erased or highlighted.

Anyway, let me know if you want more details. I'm just not sure if they will be useful, as I'm using Zbrush 3.1 yet, and you problably 4.

    Default Conan final

I call this done. Model and render done in Zbrush 3.1, using best renderer. Passes composed in Photoshop. Hair and fur retouched in PS too. Hope you guys like it. I learned a lot with this one.
