    Smile Jarlan Perez Sketchbook

Hey guys. This is my first Post on the forum. I've been following a lot of the work here for quite some time. I really like the work that comes out of here. There are lots of inspiring pieces.

I'm looking to improve my Zbrush skills, I'm fairly new to it but I understand the basics so any tips that you guys can throw at me would be awesome.

This is a Game character that I started to work on. Its somewhat based on a self type character except I have hair. Just digitally shaved it for fun. I'm going to be working on him for a bit and try to get him to a very nice finished state.

Let me know what you guys think so and any suggestion or advice would be very appreciated.

EDIT Im going to now be using this as my sketchbook.

    Hey Jarlan..
Your head is coming along its got some nice color and texture work going.. I did a super fast past over to show you how you could improve it.. Your head is too round it lacks a solid skull form underneath it. Pay close attention to bone that sticks out to the surface on the face.. That creates planes and harder edges like in the picture.. studying those and incorporating them to your face work will help you improve. hope that helps.

Thank you very Much. that actually helps a great deal and was exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. I really appreciate that. I've only been at this for about 3 or 4 months so advice like this truly is very helpful.

With that advice it should look better, so far so good.

My advice is you need more mass and shape on the lower part of the nose/nostril area. It's like its been chopped off or something. It should look better with a mor defined nostril.

    Keep it up

I'll definitely have that done for the next update. I started to notice it more and more as soon as I read your post. Thank you

    Thumbs up

    Hey, looking good so far.
Just pay attention to his biceps. From that angle the biceps is narrow and it "points" to the body.

Heres a render of the above post. Each pass was rendered in Zbrush then composed in photoshop.
