update. redid some of the pants. I think essentially done modeling, unless I think of something else to add, or to touch up from posing.

Really awesome work. I saw the black guy on PC awhile ago. I love that tweed texture. How did you get it so even and uniform?

Awesome! Is that Major Armstrong? I really like the guy in the tweed also.

Totally love your solider model. A+ details and overall appeal is great, only thing I really don't like is his mask. I think its the clear view of his face or the overall shape of it. Seems more like a scuba mask, but I love the character overall! Nice work.

Nyx702 - thanks! I've had a few people asking about the tweed texture, so I might make a tutorial image thing at some point. I think it's nothing out of the ordinary though. I overlayed a seamless tweed texture and a texture from a peacoat with a base color and AO and cavity maps. Made sure the pattern went in the right direction and then hand painted a few highlights on the folds.

    julien3d - thanks!

acornboy - thanks! I wasn't sure who Major Armstrong was until I just googled it, so it's not him but I can definitely see a resemblance.

danpants - Thanks! Different strokes I guess, I tend to like gas masks like that. Originally I was actually planning on having more of the face visible.

    Jerick - haha, thanks!

Hopefully more work soon, but until then here's an art test I did a few months ago.
