Very nice render, although the specular part on his forehead seemed to jump out at me.
I'm continuously impressed by blender. Its really matured over the last couple of years. Your image is good and your modeling is wonderful. I do agree that the specular high lights could be dialed back a little.
Great job, and looking forward to more of your work,
Gary
Keep pushin' those pixols, and tappin' to the code!
I also agree about specularity, meanwhile an new blender 2.5.3 here so some GI and more sss. No pp this time, lust levels and small glow.
Thanks soul and hyper
Update: added some pp (overlay) in a slightly different render (lenses less wide) because it was distorting what I had in mind. I hope this is OK.

Well, you've cured the problems I saw and if this isn't top row, it certainly could be. Of course there are artists on this forum who farrrr exceed me, and I do wish that they could give some feedback as well.
Very well done!

A very nice portrait, love the expression! And the hair is just fantastic!
I did notice that you lost some contrast in the shadow areas and places like where the lips meet and the nasolabial fold. The lips blend together a bit too much there and you can't tell where they do meet.
But great work!
Thanks
Right KrakenCMT, I fixed it, damn sss.I did notice that you lost some contrast in the shadow areas and places like where the lips meet and the nasolabial fold![]()
I really like that facial expression. There is something honest about it (for a lack of better term); He seams "real" to me because of that. Well done.
Thanks Beneto,
Here's an alternative render.

ohoho!!
Hello!
REally Great model!
Congrats
Thank you arthurduque.
Some changes for the likeness, more hair and less sss. No pp, frame and levels only. And a BW with some more pp overlay

Hi Michalis![]()
Really been enjoying these last couple of sculpts of yours...Very inspiring..gives me something to shoot for with my own works.
Keep up the GREAT progress..![]()
Glenn
I think your rendering and presentation are good, but the modeling itself could really use some work IMO. The fat doesn't feel organic or look smooth. To me that's the biggest thing you could improve on; the base sculpt. The creases, fat, and fat folds need to look softer and more realistic.
But I do like the presentation, including your texturing, shading and rendering.
Just my 2 cents, hope you don't mind.

Thanks SD, you're talking about modern heros, here's one of mine.![]()
Thanks tobbeo, you're right. Its this realistic approach that makes me mad sometimes. Never a close friend of photoreality. I prefer some simple classic clay sculpture. Eyes, hair etc I find them boring. But its interesting and difficult.
I fixed something here, I resculpted a little in blender, too late for zb now. Sorry for my english, what does it mean 'my two cents'?
Here one more, no pp.

My 2 cents is just an expression for "it's just my opinion". I do like your piece and I think you have refined it well throughout this thread. It's tough to get fat folds looking naturally but I'm sure you'll get better and better with each model.
And overall, I think it's a good image! You have a good artistic eye!
