    Default Inky's Sketch Book

    Hello Zbrush Central,
I have been an onlooker for quite sometime just being inspired and intimidated by all the talent here, but I have decided to throw my art into the ring.
I went a little bonkers with the Zapplink plugin, it was the first time I used it. I love it.

I am new to posting, really. So I am not sure how to display the images right, even after reading the instructions.

    Default Personal Project

    Default Zbrush metcap
The metcap was used just to show the details. I am still trying to figure out what color he will be, more likely a greyish/ warm color. His eyes are stand ins.

It does look like green would suit him.

The matcap you choose is too confusing in my opinion. Its shows very little depth. Try and do some compositing with the different matcaps. thats what they are there for.

    I like your second guy.

    Default Thanks kskovbo

    I will follow your suggestion.
Actually I plan to use a basic MatCap as a base and then during the course of painting him, I may incorporate the other metcap as other forms of maps, but not as a base.

Since this is the first time I am using zbrush this extensively, I am testing my sea legs. This guy is my first full character in Zbrush. (he was first made in Silo, then Maya, then Zbrush).

Default It's Been awhile Since added anything here.

I have always hidden in the shadows, overwhelmed by the amount of talent that comes across here. Keep hoping to do that perfect thing before I post. But that is not realistic.

The Character above was my attempt at Dom of War. The color version crashed (Exploded), so I was not able to compete. I was taxing my computer and I just got started.

I learnt a lot from this piece. I am hoping to finish it once I get more Ram.
He would be just hitting the 10000 poly mark with his weapon, teeth, and eye sub tools.

Default This was the base color

Maybe it was a blessing in deguise that this thing exploded. I was all over the place with the color. I approached it all wrong, and with little ZB knowledge. I will use refs next time, and just plan better. NethBod.jpg
The high detail took about 7 to 8 hours, the base mesh took longer, and I went through so many concepts before landing on this guy. Even wrote the character's story and entry into the Dom of War Universe.
The symbol would have been a glow map that was steered into it's for head.
