Pretty much done with the head, just reposition the teeth a bit, and some more detailing once posed. I'll probably update the helmet, but it'll stay rubber like. Next > wing completion and posing. I've also figured out a way to cover up the seams where the wings meet the bust, you'll see See you with the final

Very cool! It sounds like you won't be using the insert mesh option for the wings... Does that mean you've found a way to combine your subtools without actually having to combine them???? I'm dying to know the secret!! Can't wait to see your final composite!

Thank you guys! Glad you like it. I've finished in the meantime, and will do a couple of poses tomorrow.

Skadalilama what's insert mesh? The secret is that I'll wrap it's tail around it's neck once I pose it and it will cover up the seems, and because there'll be several poses I'll have to resculpt the tail that many times. I'm sorry to disappoint you

Ah no worries bro, that sounds like it'll make for a wicked-cool composition!

The insert mesh allows you to combine multiple subtools into one tool and then blur/sculpt over the seam to really blend them together. Unfortunately, if you've got millions of polygons in both subtools, they add up in the product and can REALLY mess things up with the program (cuz of the memory space).

Hey that's cool! Thanks I'll look into it.

I've finished it! The images are too big so I've put a direct link to my cghub thread. http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2370&page=2

Looks REALLY great, buddy!! The skin texturing is superb, you've really given a "thickness" to this beast. I'm a huge fan of LOTR, and I think you've captured the nastiness of this thing really well.

The only critique I have is the pose... I understand your reasoning for it, but I think it makes it look a little too snake-like, a little too flexible. I've only been successful with the insert mesh button when it comes to eyes and teeth, but I'm working from a Macbook Pro laptop with a limited amount of RAM. I assume you're working from a desktop? Check it out and see if it works for ya.

Most of your presentation shows beasts neck.
I would love to see some head images because i am sure it looks great.
    Cheers,

Skadalilama Wow! Thanks for that, I'm so glad it has that impact, cause I'm too much into it, and the only thing I can see are the flaws As far as the pose goes, I wanted to do several, but time didn't let me, so I made this one particularly to look good when rotating around it's axis in a turntable. Thanks again! btw I'm using a quad 2,33ghz pentium with 4GB of ram, I'll ckeckit out

Hey Toni! I didn't want to put the images of the head en face cause I feel the stronger side of the beast is..well.. it's side There are a couple though on the cghub.

    Thanks people!

To Toni's suggestion I managed to rendered out two frontal images (actually from above ) that I'm somewhat happy with. Thanks Toni! And here they are.
