    Default 3D Jam #4: Don Cheadle/War Machine - Firebert

I will be sculpting out Don Cheadle as War Machine.
Below is the begnning base mesh, and the progress so far on the sculpt. The base was made in Maya. I could have sculpted this from a minimal base, but I wanted to revisit some good old poly modeling to allow for some extra control in certain areas.
I will most likely try some of the hard surface brushes for the armor, at least as a starting point for retopology.

Cool stuff. I'm not sure if his skin is a weee bit too shiny. I could be wrong. Good job on the model. Would be cool if the visor lowered down and sucked in. too show air lock or something.

Thanks Brett I'm glad you like it. I agree his spec is a tad shiny. Cheadle has some oily skin imo, but I also wanted it to feel like it is somewhat hot in the armor. Tony Stark may be a genius, but I don't think he came up with an A/C unit for the suites :P

hey firebert. congrats on finishing this one. it looks really superb.
the only thing i would crit are his eyes, maybe they got a bit much transparency/reflections. but the sweaty look of the skin is great as i think it's believable that these suits aren't really cooled down.
    anyway, great work.

    Thumbs up Amazing!

Great work! Top row! The texture/material for the armor is spot on. Did you use a mental ray shader for it?
