    Default Zalgor

Hello everyone. There are times I have been working on a story of fiction. It's great battles in a parallel world, between angels and demons. The principle is just a story, an unfinished book. This is one of the characters in the story, his name is Zalgor, one of the greatest villains. He devours souls through his eye on the cage bones. The right arm is like a shell, it removes the forearm and lightning strikes against their opponents, freezing them with open eyes, so to see the eye souls
are sucked through it. I will be posting a version in low poly with textures and everything else. Hope you like it!

Really like the concept and execution.

Ground in your beauty shot seems to be out of perspective though? Threw me off a bit, but everything else is excellent.

    WOW!

I have so much admiration, and so many questions.

Was the concept done in ZB quick sketch? if so how did you achieve the shading and what brush type did you use? I have not used the feature much at all.

Second, did you achieve some of the high frequency detail using the new noise feature? if not I would love to hear how you did it.

Top notch work, the concept to execution is amazing.

Hi DhruvGovil, thanks for the comment. Maybe the camera or the fog has given that impression, because the perspective was generated in zbrush as you can see in the image. Thank you!

Hi Aberrant, thanks for the comment. The design concept I did the same pencil and scanned. About the noise, I used the surface in Zbrush 3.5. I made a simple comparison in the image, with the configuration I used. After applying the noise used the smooth crease brush to remove excess. I hope have clarified.

Thank you for the explanation and screens. Beautiful work. Your sketches are very well done just like your sculpt. You really nailed it.

Maybe it's just me but the noise seems a little to heavy and overly uniformed.

I suggest using a few different noise masks of varying intensity so it looks more like skin variations, and less like a simple photo effect.

(Aberrant) - Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.

(pimeto) - Thank you very much!

(wasa) - Hi... I agree with you the image above the noise is very uniform and strong. In the hi-poly character and gave a final smoothing with the brush smoth crease, leaving softer and less uniform. I'll do projection, like to leave a little strong for the normal map. Thanks for the comment. Soon I'll post the low poly model.

Well done and great job in executing the idea into the actual model. While I dig the style, I would ditto Wasa's comment about the noise being too uniform. It appears that you ran (appears, not saying you did) a photo effect typically found in Photoshop plugins used to emulate the old film grain effect. Using masks and modifying the size and visibilility of the noise would help eliminate noise on say the claws/nails which would make the foot a bit more realistic. Great work again, thanks for sharing the WIP's
