    Top post
Start of a new boxing fight scenario this morning...Muhammad Ali vs George Forman.
First preparatory 3d thumbnail sketch...just going for the composition as it relates to the scene and the body gestures of the boxers at this point...will end up doing alot more studies of this scenario and the major sequences that determine the outcome of the fight from start to finish ..First scene, ..Ali being hit by Formans right and ending up against the ropes, where he is later pinned against the ropes throughout the fight,..as Ali is leaning way back against the ropes in a defensive gesture as he lets Forman wear himself out by throwing his best and hardest shots as Ali absorbs them,..until the final round where Ali uses his stored up energy to rebound against Forman, to knock him down and out in a lightning fast flurry of left and right punches to Formans jaw, which in turn gives Muhammad Ali his title back one more time.

This was an evening outdoor match, so i'm working some on the lighting setup that I want for this scene this morning.

Dude, be frankly. You have't made any progress since 2007.... I am not personal to you but you really need to think how to improve your modeling, rendering bla bla......

You should learn how to use BPR in Zbrush... Beacause what you've done is really bad.... I'm sorry to say that but it's what I thought....

    God bless you.

what a rude post, and the first here at zbc, too, aztec,,,, and, i think, you do not see the quality in spiritdreamers work. look at his last image. it has excelent lightning, to support the movement and helps the emotion. he might not model like the mainstream, bot his models have strength in expression...and, i believe, this is a good quality too, and what glenn is after,,,

Some people just don't "get" work like Glenn's. I agree it's extremely rude and not constructive at all to post something like that. Aztec probably doesn't appreciate the work of people like Leroy Neiman, either and Glenn's work stands proudly alongside his in my opinion.

Crazy Horse...Thanks Man.....Glad you enjoy that one.The George Forman figure in this thumnail sketch is just stuck in it as a placeholder at present...to get the body gesture in place..working on that bigger and much bulkier figure of his at present.

    Thank You Kokoro......Much appreciated..

Thank You Santis.. Glad you like the movement...Wouldn't be much of a painting depicting the sport of boxing, if it did not portray movement and energy in action..

Thanks VoodooDad...Gary...Now i'm off to look up that name that you mentioned..not familar with his works..but you really got me curious now..LOL

OK..Gary..I just looked him up....I must be getting old and forgetful...of course I know his works..one of my favorite sports illustrators in fact..luv his style.and the movement and energy that it projects.

Did alot of sculpting on the figure of George Forman this morning..bulked him up quite a bit, and started to get more of a likeness in his face..Still alot to do yet on both figures, but the action and feeling is in place for this particular scene, and that's what counts the most for this kind of subject...the rest is just secondary trivia,...to me anyway.

Man, I look at these boxing sculpts and I can hear Cosell yelling "He's on the ropes! THERE! RIGHT THERE!". The best kind of art (in my book) is art that evokes some kind of memory and feeling, and your's does that in spades Glenn.

i like it how voodoodad has said it... and, i think, its why i admire your work glenn...i am not not boxing, though i know mohammed ali and jow frazer boxing (tells about my age, i guess...lol...), but your works brings to me back the feelings when i saw this boxing (i saw only one),,,and your series of images lets me see dynamics, dramatics, energy, struggle, relief, and a lot more feelings, and, i think, this is what art is about. at least, that is what i am after too ...lol... i like the last one very much again, the shift of light from top to dark, the way you describe the movings. very good.
