Glenn Hey that was a cool link to Basics tutorial, sure would like to see more.....
My real wish is that there would be a series of tuts or a book on the breakdown of every brush and what could be done with them...
Oh Well wishful thinking I guess.... thanks for dropping by

Thanks Deke...Yep, I know what you mean..alot of great stuff hidden away,... which gets lost in the schuffle along the way.

Started working on the emotion of Muhammad Ali as he prepares to come off of the ropes in the last round of his bout with George Forman, and send the by this time exhausted Forman to the canvas with a flurry of powerful blows to Forman's jaw..thus allowing ALI to regain the World
Heavyweight Championship Boxing Title one more time.

hi glenn, nice to see the bears being back, for you to study light :-) ...
i noticed your images are quite dark lately, sometimes it is hard to see what is on the image. is this intentional ?

Hi Kokoro, and Thanks for stopping by ..About the darkness...I am trying to do away with or put into shadow/shade/darkness what is secondary form, and of secondary importance...and at the same time bring forth what is of primary importance, and key to creating the mood and feeling that i'm after in the piece that i'm working on....and am using light as a compositional tool/element in the work ..where the light itself is what leads the viewer to where I want them to go, and to see what I want to be seen, creating a visual flow which ends up in areas which I think are of importance.
A good painting should have mystery in it's secondary forms, which are of secondary importance, and that notion can apply to good sculpture also...as in some of the sculptures of Michelangilo.
It's kind of like telling a story......say for instance the story of a great fight between champion boxers.......If every little detail of their clothing were described as the story was being told...it would become very boring very fast,..and the impact of the fight and the story of it as told by the storyteller would be belittled by the little and of little importance details..

Above is a link to a master of doing in his work what I am trying to do in my work, and was just trying to explain.

hi glenn, thank you for in depth explanation of your thought process... oh, yes, caravaggio, one of my favourite too :-) ...
so, i will check my monitor settings, as from your explanation, i get the feeling i see far less on your images than you intend,
as they appear on my monitor so dark, i hardly see anything on some of them. this is certainly not your intention... i know now, its a problem on my side,
being a mac user, i frequently struggle with "incompatiblity" of those kind of sorts... i will sort out, and then look your images again, as i think your detailed
lightstudies are very informative to watch :-) thanks, glenn, and have more happy studies.
