    howdy challengers!

i actually managed to do some sculpting for the mnc and I'm happy in two ways: 1st, its good to get in touch with this community again and 2nd, I really enjoyed taking some time for myself and doing own stuff, a welcome change to the daily routine.

nice to see your entries! Great Frankenstein, 3Point14! Jazzy expression and believable proportions. Welcome aboard, JohNny45! that character has got potential, tweaking proportions a bit could help to advance him even more

Well, here is my doodle - the mesh is divided once, IŽll try to do some detailing tonight. 121 welcome!

Started working on the hair and skin wrinkles, while further refining the emotion.

Raf that's really nice. Really feels like there is something under the skin. Froyd, that's great! It's impressive how much detail you've managed to achieve at such a low subdivision level. Really nice. And Spirit, it's really starting to come together...nice work. He seems very annoyed

At least it gave me an excuse to give him some eyes.

Gosh, everyone's moving right along - great entries so far.
Here's where I'm at with it currently, nothing too fresh or
original here (character study) but I have so little time for
personal work any more, it's nice of MTB to propose these
challenges where you can put as much or as little as your
    time allows.

    Hello!
Can anyone quess who is this guy?;D
Could made materials more realistic, but i like the feeling of clay.
...Allmost have to wash your hands after sculpting!;D
Might work with materials still and render one more out!

    Fun!!

Thanks SolidSnakexxx... I'm working strickly from my own imagination here, so if he resembles someone, I guess that's great..I don't know.LOL I'm mostly just trying to figure out the workings of Z Brush..a ton of stuff that I don't know about in it yet, and haven't tried yet..but like I said earlier, i'm here to learn, and am doing so by studying alot of the fine works posted, tutorials, and classroom demo's....and also by participating in this challange..I just hope that i'm not posting too many images in here, if I am, somebody please let me know..I don't want to burn any bridges..

Woody LWG...Great start there..Amazing how you have captured the likeness at such an early stage..

Thought I would lighten up this characters emotion a little, I got tired of seeing that anger.

Right you are SolidSnakexxx - very perceptive of you, and encouraging to know that the likeness is coming through even at this early stage.

Here is a little update, slowly but surely...

Trying my hand at poly painting, and masking by cavity.
Just trying out things in Z Brush at this point in the process that are new to me.
Where i'm at now in this process is new to me, so lots of room and possabilities for taking it further i'm sure, but i'm not really sure how to get there at this point in my understanding and learned experience in Z Brush.
Any useful suggestions for improvements and taking it further would be much apreceated and welcomed.

Hi Spirit...now I'm hardly an expert, but a tip that I picked up from ZBrush Character Creation: Advanced Digital Sculpting by Scott Spencer that seems to look great when poly painting is to paint all the warm and cold spots on your face first using red and blue respectively. Really go crazy with it, because you'll cover it up mostly with the skin tone later...what you'll end up with is something that looks clown like. Then add yellow to areas where the bones are close to the skin...then lay down your skin colourn with a low opacity and build it up.

Like I said, I'm a beginner as well so I'm not the best person to be taking advice from, but it sure does seem to do the trick. You can get fancy later with speckling and breaking up the consistency with white.

    Good luck.
