no, don't give up....lips are VERY hard...maybe try reducing the z intensity for a smoother appearance....pull out the area with a larger draw size, then push in the mouth area? that's kind of how i've been doing it with more success than before....hope this helps any! ;o)
tam ;o)
*DEEP sigh*
I guess I shouldn't. It's just soooo very frustrating. Everytime I try to do something, it alwasy ends up looking horrible.I wish there was a book out or something to help me with it.
There are many ways to make lips and they all come with a bit of practice.
For a closed mouth ,
draw to to lines with Zadd like this (xsymmetry on)

turn your head and select the Move tool in Edit mode , take a brush size equal to the size of the mouth (around 20-25) , take the side of the mouth inbetween the two lips and pull is into the head.

Still with the move tool in edit mode take a much smaller brush size and pull the ends of the lips up and down untill they meet.
(CTRL + Z = undo , you'll need this a lot in the beginning)
if you want to make an open mouth use Zcut to make a hole in your model , mask the areas that should form the lips with small brush size , inverse the mask , use the Inflate option in the DEFORMATION Palette to blow up the polygons to form lips. Afterwards mask areas and smooth them out where needed.
Making lips is a lot easier with a lowpoly head model created with a zphere , you only have to mask the correct polygons , (fairly easy since you start out with a low poly head) and mask the polys that will form the lips here too.
no problem , just dont give up that fast , try checking out the Quicklinks whenever you get stuck.
It looks like your getting it, but here is a thread with downloadable model that might be of use too. http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ult...c&f=1&t=007803

lol, I think that's the first time I've gotten a "nice work" outta someone. Thanks.))
Hey Milk
Good to see your getting on top of it! Good stuff dude!!The hardest thing to teach people when it comes to new software is patience. Sit down, mellow out and doodle like crazy. The doodling you do today will teach you to make the picture of your dreams, tomorrow!
Good to see someone is still visiting my ZLand webpage. I'm currently building a new and improved ZLand site now that I have a better understanding of Dreamweaver. Also just about all the information on that site is getting a little dated now. It was pre-Texture-Master and you don't need to paint RGB directly onto the model anymore (as you would pre version 1.23). Also there are groovey improvements on the way that will outdate that info. I recomend you vist 3D Buzzand sign up and down-load the 5 video tutorials about ZBrush. (They are about 20 megs each.)

in a couple of post i've seen a very good work.
Big teacher in this forum
Bye Leo
Lots of good lips. Like you, I prefer the monkey. And if you can stand the praise here is another...Nice work
Also bear in mind that many people use a pressure sensitive tablet (Drawing board/pen or a Wacom (of course other companies make them)) They are by no means a necesity in order to create good looking models but they do make some things slightly easier, especially when using tools that involve Zadd/Zsub. If you don't have a tablet and your model doesn't turn out the way you want it, allways go back and try out different Zadd/Zsub values.
But I can see I am already late as it seems you have got the hang of it.![]()
