Default Been meaning to ask you

Do you have a base mesh that you use for the majority of your sculpts are do you create a base from scratch every time? Your stuff is awesome and you are getting better with each sculpt.

    Default tech questions

I am working on a project and creating superhero themed miniatures for production and i had a few technical questions if you could answer.

What format do you use/send to ownage for print?

We use the STL exporter in zbrush because it allows us to set the output size in MM (most of the miniatures are about 1.5 inch tall)

Do you run into issues with the STL file size?

We have to keep our STL's under 40mb which translates to about 400k polys in zbrush or we have to go through and decimate each subtool. The restriaction is more on the machine used to created the 3d print, its only capable of 400mb of data per print run and to be cost effective they need to have 10 prints run at a time.

What is your time frame for one figure from start to finish?(not including production time)

Very nice stuff! I really like that Thanos render with the metal material. Is that a ZBrush render using a MatCap with a little noise added?

cmoffitt: Thank you! There's more from where those came from Chris . Just waiting for them to unveiled... free copies you say? Shipping from the US to my region is ultra expensive.. so I opted out of the free copy I'm afraid . But I'm glad I got to work on Marvel characters . Can't wait to see your Taskmaster!

mutte696: Thanks Maarten . I sure hope so!

leo sakamoto: Thanks . Great print job by Ownage, and a wonderful paintjob by Dan 'Danno' Cope.

selahpoetic:Thanks! Well you gotta keep learning right.. I reuse assets as much as I can. Thats the beauty of digital assets right? There is till a need for new topology in most cases though.

    SuperHer0: Thank you.

robertrageson: Desmoda would be a better source of information if you're looking into print timelines and related technicalities(STL sizes, compatibility etc). I usually stick to the sculpting bit and let the people who are experts in these areas do what they do best.

    Santis: Thank you!

    Derek Frenzo :Thanks Derek!

    basantjoshi: You're too kind. Thanks!

    Clintus Maximus: Thank you!

Webhead: Thanks! No noise added. This is one of Chris Tackett's Matcaps(Thanks Chris!). He's da Matcap Man .
