As a suggestion and being a novice I could be way off but maybe the specularity of the non-reflective cloth is too high... its shiny in places that give it more of a plastic/syntheticl look rather than softer organic fiber some overalls are made off.
Conversely you might consider a material/texutre change for the reflective strips and even raising them up off the mesh a little as these pieces are usually added after the garment is made rather than incorporated as part of it.
Just random thoughts, please take with a grain of salt.
