Thanks santis and tintop! I am glad some people are noticing and appreciating. I have started a new character. This time, I am going to try a fully organic creature without man-made garments and such. I have done a z-sphere basemesh. I will post when I make some progress in the sculpting! Thanks!
great news. i will follow and comment as soon as you post your new work.by the way, i would love to have your skills creating game characters. keep it up![]()
phew...well, i was definitely planning on getting more done a lot earlier! but i got sidetracked with comics! haha...in any case, here is my new project. i am basing it on a concept by an artist named Noho who is featured in the Fusion Junction 3 art book. I am not even close to done yet..gotta add the hand covers and the long spear and some vines. i also plan on doing more detail at a higher subdivision level and then poly painting for the first time! btw, i did the basemesh with zspheres which was also a first for me. learning so much...love it! comments and crits welcome

karmajf, gahpe: thanks!
darukin: thank man, can you be more specific on what you think looks wrong? I am not sure what area you are referring to either. Let me know if you put your finger on it![]()
Hope this helps. I noticed the protrusions at the hips seemed less stuck out on the model than in the reference, which led to a slackening of the posture that becomes apparent working from top to bottom - the feet and legs are almost perfectly aligned, but the further up you go past the waist, the more difference you get between the reference and the model. The floating blades at the back also seem a bit small when compared to the reference, though that could just be angle.
Losgunn: i see what you're saying. as for the posture, i definitely exaggerated the posture...but this was intentional. I think the concept is done with perspective but clearly its not accurate because from that view, those back blades would not be that visible if they were centered down the back. you could be right though, they may be a tad smaller on my model. hah, only problem is if i make them any bigger, they start to get way too close to each other. i def may try to adjust the upper body as i go though...thanks for the observations!
small update...added the vines around the shoulders and legs and then added the first pass version of the right hand guard. i still have to add more detail to it before bending it. normally if i were to create a curved object, i would do it in maya but if anyone knows a good way to do it in zbrush, i would love to know! i did the temp one here by just transposing. in any case, comments and crits still welcome

Wow, I really like your character reminds me of Zelda TP of some reason.

New Sketchbook! (with a new free skull on page 1!)
So, I have been on hiatus for a while now...just couldn't motivate myself to finish that alien creature...ugh! I am going to try my best to finish this one...much more motivated cuz Hit Girl is KICKASS...pun intended! Here is my head sculpt so far...working on some hair. If anyone has good hair tutorials, do tell!
Did some work on Hit Girl tonight...worked on the hair and mask. I'll probably move onto the body next.
