    Default AngelJ's ZBrush Fun

This will be my Zbrush Journal for my works in progress and such.

Lets try this again.. been a while since i've played with Zbrush.
I always thought Zspheres had more potential waiting to be unleashed, and hoped Pixologic would amaze me with their future innovations and boy did they ever.

I always felt trying to learn 3D modeling should be fun, with each new upgrade Pixologic brings back the fun. Many thanks pixologic team!

Starting off pretty basic, working on a chariot type thing and made my own lil Zbrush logo thingie in an attempt to make a good presentation. I got inspired from lot of other forum users like Etcher and Malikus the Black .

Default No time for Love Dr. Jones

Haven't had much play time sadly, too much work and family stuff. Anyway I was able to get more work done on my Dragon Bird critter. Really enjoying the new zspheres for sculpting and posing, my dragon bird had a more basic pose initially. Especially articulating the fingers for a new hand pose, being able to take fingers and bend them into a fist was great. Used the material from Malikus the Black which you can find here:
    http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthr...t=75050&page=5
Still got a ways to go, feet and wings need to be done. The video is just me rotating the critter around to a loop of silly music for anyone who wants to get a better look at em before and after I posed him but beware of the funky workspace colors, right spaceboy
    .

Troy1617: Hey bud, definitely still getting time in when I can, bit of the slow and go. Glad you like the head, hope you like where its going.

    Default Hand Practice

Well just posting hand practice exercise for myself. Since its been a while for me using zbrush I forgot a ton of stuff. So figure i'd try to play around with finding a basic zsketch flow for making a hand and then making turning it into a basic fist. I use zbrush pretty intuitively, never really do the something in the same way generally so felt I try to work on that aspect starting with this hand.

I did a Video of it.. figured i'd post it. Maybe it will give someone new to zbrush 3.5 food for thought, though its just a sped up version and I did not capture the entire screen unfortunately.

The first arm/hand and zsketch I did in 3.5 are the ones after the video figured i'd post them as well.

hey AngelJ good too see more progress on your dragon bird and seeing where your going with it and also seeing you explore zskiffs more in conjunction with the new ziffs they really do offer alot of possibilities in terms of workflow and arriving at a rough form..
the posed fist is looking great good to see how you arrived at the end result in terms of workflow..
good to see you experimenting and improving with every new post..

hope your doing well as always and hope to talk to you soon buddy ..

    Default Ahh I forgot...

...Yeah figure i'd add these 3 pics of the dragon bird critter to show the initial zsketch I made and then the posed version since I forgot some can't see veoh and some won't wanna see the vid which I totally understand.

SolidSnakeXXX: Seen your very cool sculpts on your thread and how much you participate on the forum so appreciate you taking a peek and glad you like what your seeing! Ehehe yeah well gray wasn't doing it for me so had to spicy it up a bit.

Troy1617: Thanks bud, will continue on it some more but will probably do some other zsketchs before coming back and finishing it. My goal is to have a lot of zsketchs that I can go back and refine the sculpts to a finished product down the road. Also want my zsketchs to have the exact mass and volume proportions that I want my final sculpt to have and some details so that I only need to do a brief sculpt over and add the finer texture details. My take a tad longer but in the end for me I feel shows the true power of the zsketch.

    Default Ugh

Nothing like after a 12 hr work day unwinding by sculpting in zbrush! This is just a zsketch wip based on Roshinu a character illustrated by Kentar***333; Miura. Though I think in the bottom face progression image that the top 3 heads have a namek feel to em especially the center one.

Spaceboy412: Hey bud, better be careful the colors are addicting .

Default All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!

Hey just a small update, life and its blasted priorities. Did get a wee bit done off and on, still a ton to go. Playing with the zsketch has been fun and i'm learning a lot, however, I did let myself get carried away a bit. Most of the semblance of musculature will be toned down, already covered up the neck and arms I did earlier since the characters arms and collar is covered in a type of "fur" so just used zspheres to block that shape out.

Troy1617: Thanks a lot, appreciate the encouragement. I'm definitely having fun with the zsketch and feeling like i'm moving along. Lot of possibilities with 3.5 and i'd imagine 4.0 will blow my mind as well.
